If I purchase additional images, will I receive the black and white images as well?

​

Absolutely!

​

What is a composite?

​

A composite is a digital creation where I photoshop an image I've taken of your baby into a digital composite of another image seamlessly. There's an endless amount of creativity in these images and they're time consuming. I have several existing composite options available or I can create something entirely new just for you, for $40.

​

How do we plan the colour scheme and set ups for the photoshoot?

​

You would let me know your preferred colour scheme for your baby, whether you'd like florals/greenery in any images as well as your preference for colour for family photo backdrop. I suggest choosing 1-2 colours and a complimenting neutral for baby. Selfishly, I do love it when a finished gallery is a stunning cohesive set of matching images. 

You may send me screenshots of favourite images. Preferably of my own work or work that has a similar aesthetic to my work. I do not like copying other photographers work but I am happy to view the image as inspiration.

When should I let you know my baby has arrived?

​

As soon as humanly possible! Include me in your "Baby's Here" texts to friends and family! Newborn photos are best done under 2 weeks of birth! Of course this is not always possible for a variety of reasons. I have no problem doing a newborn session for baby's up to 4 weeks old. Just keep me in the loop!

What if  my baby is born early or late?

​

No problem! Let me know as soon as possible so that I have notice to fit you into my schedule.

​

What if my baby doesn't cooperate?

​

Most baby's cooperate no problem and I am almost always able to get the photos needed to provide you with a suitable gallery to choose from. This is where the importance of following the newborn prep guide comes in! If for some reason your little one is really, really struggling, we will absolutely reschedule! I have only had to do this maybe 3 times in my 13 year newborn photography career!

What if my toddler or child doesn't cooperate?

​

Well, we have to manage our expectations here! But I have a whole multitude of tips and tricks up my sleeve to encourage toddlers to willingly participate in family & sibling photos! If you're concerned, please let me know so we can talk it through and come up with a plan together!

If you have a child with special needs, please let me know so that I can naviagate the session appropriately for everyone!

My son is autistic and he loves it when I sing certain songs for him to look at the camera! Some kids hate loud sounds. Some kids find fart noises hilarious.

How many images will I have to choose from?

​

A lot! But truthfully, it all depends on your little one and any other kiddos participating in the session! On average, I'm able to put together galleries of 50-120 images to choose from!

What is a headswap

​

Sometimes people blink or kiddos don't cooperate. In these instances, I am able to take a smiling, open-eyed face from one photo and layer it onto another photo creating a perfect image.

This has to be done from the same bunch of photos where everyone is in the same position.

Do you offer a payment plan?

​

Absolutely! I require a deposit to be made upon booking. The session remainder can be paid in a couple installments however, you will not receive your gallery until payment has been completed! 

​

What do you mean by fully edited?

​

All images are air-brushed and professionally touched up. Imperfections removed. Hair smoothed. 

If a baby has extremely dry skin, I'm able to remove the majority of skin flakes.

If baby has a stork bite or a birth mark, this is left untouched unless asked to remove!

Can I bring any special items to include in photos?

​

Please do! Let me know ahead of time so I can work it into my plan. I pre-plan all sessions so that we can maximize our session time together.

What is the turn over time for images?

​

This all depends on busy I am at the time. Generally, I say 3-6 weeks for the entire process of photo selection and completed image delivery. Most of the time, I deliver images around the 2-4 week mark. 

​

How far in advance should I book?

​

I take a select number of newborns per month. Many moms contact me at the 12 week mark to secure their booking. Sometimes I am able to take bookings closer to the date but it completely depends on my own family schedule and how much I'm able to take on. It is highly encouraged that you book your newborn session ahead of time!

​

What if I want studio prop photos of baby and family lifestyle photos in the bed set?

​

We can use the family lifestyle bed set instead of the basic backdrop studio set for the family and sibling portion of the Newborn + Family Package.

If you want to do a mix of lifestyle family and studio family, it is an additional $50 charge.
